Therapy Services

Fellowship Village provides therapy to restore residents to their normal lifestyle. Services by our qualified, experienced therapists are available upon referral from a resident's physician. Depending on the individual’s needs, a rehab stay could be as short as two weeks or up to three months.

Therapists specialize in Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy services. Each plays a specific role in a resident’s recovery.

To assure a safe transition, therapists visit the resident's home and make safety recommendations. With the resident and family present, several living skills are assessed during the visit including cooking, bathing, doing laundry, using stairs, taking medications, and being mobile around the home.

Physical Therapy

Physical therapy may utilize physical agents such as mechanical devices, heat, cold, light, water, electricity, ultrasound, therapeutic exercises, and rehabilitative procedures to restore patients to their maximum level of function. Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy is a health care service that provides assistance to individuals whose ability to function in daily life has been disrupted by physical illness or injury, development problems, or the aging process.

Occupational Therapists work with people of all ages who, because of physical, developmental, social, or emotional deficits, need specialized assistance in learning skills to enable them to lead independent, productive and satisfying lives.

Occupational Therapy (OT) focuses on activities of daily living. These activities include bathing, dressing, grooming, and functional transfers as well as job related tasks, driving skills, and skills for home and money management. In addition, OT addresses the components that factor into the performance of these activities including vision, perception, attention, cognition, upper extremity strength, coordination and range of motion, and balance and transfers from a functional viewpoint.

Our Occupational Therapist works with each patient to design a customized rehabilitation program that will suit individual needs and abilities. Our goal is to maximize function as soon as possible, following an injury, disease or surgery.

Our OT staff is led by Jolayn Coquyt

Restorative Therapy

Available to both short-term and long-term residents, restorative therapy combines rehabilitation and nursing skills. It includes range of motion exercises, walking, stretching, and assistance with daily living activities (i.e. getting dressed). This program helps residents retain their level of functioning, restore their independence, and enhance their quality of life. Specialy trained C.N.As deliver the resident's program, provide care, and monitor progression. Oversight is provided by the Director of Nursing and close communication is maintained with the rehabilitation department to ensure optimal goals are reached for each resident.
